AN IDEOLOGICAL LABEL IS JUST THAT
Ideological labels are misleading. Republican, Democrat, Neo-Liberal, Liberal, Conservative, Libertarian, Alt-Right, Socialist. The boundaries are not as clear cut as people have been led to believe. For instance, Kennedy advocated for free trade (a traditionally Republican stance) whereas Nixon and W. Bush pushed protectionist policies (a traditionally Democratic stance). Clinton reduced public sector employment (a Republican stance) while Reagan and W. Bush increased it (a Democratic stance). And Obamacare came from the Heritage Foundation (a conservative think tank).
We are a country that has come to love labels. The more the better. They seem to be increasing at a dizzying pace. To what end?
